History
Berry's Designer Florist has been established for 11 years. The first shop was opened just below the railway crossing in the hope of getting trade from passing commuters. After a period of around 18 months we realised we would be better positioned a little nearer to the high street. When a shop became vacant we moved to our current premises (Number 10 Station Road) and have not looked back since!
Berry's Aims
When we first opened things were quite different in the floristry retail sector. There were lots of florist shops around but the designs on offer were very traditional. We aimed to change that and have built our reputation on always being able to offer our customers something different both in design, products and service. I believe it is important to spend time getting to know who the flowers are for and ask questions about the occasion, personal preferences and even decor! Another important factor is our commitment to continually offer our customers something new and unusual. After 11 years this would be quite difficult if not for regular training to update our skills not to mention our enthusiasm!
We also have built a thriving trade in providing wedding flowers for much the same reason and also provide flowers to many local businesses with our Corporate 'Flowers for Business' service.
New Look Shop
Recent changes: Last autumn we decided to invest in a new look for our premises which were looking decidedly shabby. (Kinder customers told us our shop was quirky). However it was obvious to me that we needed a total refurbishment to show off some of our more modern minimalistic designs. After much work and a short period of closure we re-opened in December last year and are now reaping the benefits of our lovely new shop. We have also invested in lots of new items to display. It has also meant that we can hire out some items like glassware for weddings and special occasions. Bay trees are also a popular hire item. Please ask for a price list if this is of interest to you.
